Co-Managing Director Loudon Owen is the managing partner in McLean Watson ("MW"), the originial Canadian software and IT venture fund. MW's performance was in the upper decile of successful IT venture funds. Loudon and his partner successfully restructured Softimage and sold that firm to Microsoft.
Successful exits in the MW portfolio include: Lavalife, ActivPlant, Brainhunter, Flonetwork, Ntegrator, Sitebrand, Rhea, Databeacon and Savi. Several leading companies remain in the portfolio, including i4i.
Loudon also manages the leading firm providing IP protection and patent defense,through Upstream Partners.
The two MW funds raised $160,000,000 from high-net-worth individuals, private equity firms and institutions, including Teachers, creating more than $1 Billion in value.
